Athens is a town located in Greene County New York. The Village of Athens is situated on the west bank of the Hudson River north of Catskill NY. Part of the Sleepy Hollow Lake planned community is located within the boundaries of the Town of Athens. A ferry service once connected Athens to Hudson on the east bank of the Hudson River.
