Both the Town of Catskill and Village of Catskill are found in Greene County New York. The Village of Catskill is the county seat and is located on the west side of the Hudson River. The Village of Catskill is undergoing a rennaissance and there is an an exiting mix of new and old on Main Street where one can find of antique shops, trendy art studios, quaint specialty shops and professional offices. Home prices are still much more affordable than Hudson--Catskill's neighbor across the Hudson River, yet only a short distance separates the two villages. While alot of the buzz has been about Hudson, Catskill shows great potential with equal or greater scenery and better value. More secluded homes with Catskill Mountain views are also only a couple of minutes away in the Town of Catskill. Getting to Catskill is easy via the New York State Thruway.
