About Saugerties
Saugerties is located at the northeastern corner of Ulster County and is easily accessed by an exit off the New York State Thruway. It is close to all of the Catskill outdoor activities. During the peak tourist seasons, the village area is full of weekenders enjoying the specialty shops in the business district. Saugerties hosts HITS (Horse Shows in the Sun), a premier horse jumping competition in the spring and summer. Saugerties is also famous for the Hudson Valley Garlic Festival, which draws thousands of people to the town in the fall. In the winter, Saugerties is close to skiing at Hunter Mountain.
